We respect your privacy and are committed to full transparency about how we collect, use and share your personal data.

This privacy notice tells you how we treat personal data that we collect from you, that you provide to us or that we may collect from other sources. This includes the different ways in which you interact with us, such as in person, by email or telephone, through our website, or through our pages on social networks.

  • to list the personal data we collect from you;
  • explain the purposes for which the data is processed and specify the legal basis on which the data is processed;

  • to inform you of your rights with regard to your personal data and how you can exercise them;

By interacting with us or providing us with your personal data, you accept the rules described in this privacy notice. If you do not accept these rules, please do not use or visit our website or provide us with your personal data.

Fondation Partage reserves the right to make changes to this confidentiality notice, which will take effect as soon as they are published on our website. Please check our website regularly for any changes.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT?

When you interact with us, for example via our website, our social media accounts, by email or telephone, when you visit our physical premises or at events, we may collect your personal data.

We only collect the personal data that you communicate to us, that result from your actions on our website and/or that we need to offer you or improve our services, or on the basis of another legitimate interest:

  • Contact and identification details such as surname, first name, physical and/or e-mail address, telephone number, professional affiliation (for contacts with corporate donors and contacts with beneficiary associations) and communication metadata such as your IP address, time signature, browser (incl. language and version) and, possibly, information on your geographical location;
  • Identification information, such as user name and account ID, and authentication information, such as passwords and answers to security questions;
  • Information relating to volunteers, such as contact and identification details, as well as – optionally to help us target our volunteers for campaigns – date of birth.
  • Transactional information, such as payment details (e.g. credit card or bank account numbers) and billing address;
  • Information from your social media accounts, such as profiles, photos, videos, stories, comments and other content generated by you where our name and/or services are mentioned or appear, when you allow a third-party social network to share your personal data with us or when you use a featuré of a social network that is integrated into our website ;
  • Professional information if you are responding to a job offer or sending an unsolicited application, such as previous professional experience, educational institutions attended, references or certifications;

We collect this data directly from you when you send it to us.

We also collect data from third parties, in particular when we acquire a list of donors or when we engage volunteers through public services or private associations. Please do not hesitate to contact us at info@partage.ch if you would like more information about our donor list services.

We may also collect personal data from third-party data aggregators (e.g. Google), public sources and social networking platforms. This information may include personal data from your profile on a social network, which you authorise that network to share with us in accordance with their rules.

We also use cookies and other tracking technologies (e.g. pixels, web beacons and APIs) that collect certain types of information when you interact with us on our website or via our social media pages, such as IP address, location, browsing devices or preferences, operating system, source, length of visit, pages viewed, etc. For more information, please consult our notice on cookies.

WHY DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND ON WHAT LEGAL GROUNDS?

We collect and use your personal data in order to:

  • receive your support and manage your donations in the fight against poverty;
  • to allow you to work as a volunteer for the Fondation Partage;
  • to carry out our actions and provide our services to our associative partners and beneficiary social services;
  • to keep you informed of our activities, if you have subscribed to our mailing list;
  • to answer your questions and/or manage your participation in a competition or event organised by us;
  • to optimise your user experience on our website;
  • respond to unsolicited or other job applications;
  • guarantee the security and maintenance of our website and the safety of our staff in our offices;
  • to keep records of our activities in order to comply with our financial or legal obligations.

We process your data on a pre-contractual and/or contractual basis during all your interactions with the Fondation Partage in connection with our actions and services, including your contacts with us or your requests for information, as well as any related commercial transactions. We will process your personal data on the same basis if you take part in a competition organised by the Fondation Partage, if you respond to a job offer or if you send us an unsolicited application.

In order to carry out its mission of combating poverty and supporting people in precarious situations in the canton of Geneva, the Foundation depends on donations and gifts. To this end, Fondation Partage can acquire lists of donors who it will then contact for fundraising campaigns and donations. In this case, it is in the legitimate interest of Fondation Partage to process your personal information if it appears on these lists. Please note that in this case you have the right to object to the processing by contacting us at info@partage.ch. It is also in our legitimate interest to process some of your information to ensure the security of our premises, IT systems and staff.

You can subscribe to our mailing list to keep up to date with our actions and activities. In this case, we will explicitly ask for your consent to process your personal data. We will process your data on the same basis if you give your express consent for us to send you mailings for our fundraising campaigns and donations, either directly or via donor lists. Please note that you may exercise the option to unsubscribe or withdraw your consent at any time by using the “unsubscribe” option or by contacting us at info@partage.ch. Finally, we have legal obligations under national and international law. In order to fulfil our obligations, we process your personal data for compliance purposes, in order to comply with our financial or legal obligations.

WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share your personal data with some of our service providers (e.g. our IT hosting company, communications agency, fundraising platform, payment services, mailing and distribution services, volunteer manager, etc.) or with the authorities.

As far as possible, we will only share your data with service providers located in Switzerland.

That said, we also use Mailchimp for our mailing list, which is a company based in the United States. It is therefore important to note that your personal data may be transferred to this territory. However, the United States benefits from an adequacy decision and Mailchimp is a certified company of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework Program – more information here.

Among our payment solutions, we use Stripe, Inc. and you can find out more about their Data Processing Agreement here. The DPA is entered into with the EU-based company, Stripe Payments Europe, Limited and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses are incorporated for any transfers outside Switzerland, the UK or the EU. Note that Stripe is also a company listed under “The EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework” – see here.

Finally, our website uses Google Analytics and other tools offered in the Google plug-in suite, such as reCaptcha, as well as web beacons, pixels and APIs. Please note that by accepting these cookies, you agree to your personal data being transferred to the United States. However, you can refuse them by using our preference centre.

We may also use plugins on our website that link to social media platforms. The third party platform’s use of the information collected from you (or as authorised by you) is governed by its own privacy notice and your settings on the service. If you do not want a third-party social network site to attribute the data collected via our website to your account on that social network, you must disconnect from the relevant social network site before visiting our website.

HOW IS YOUR DATA STORED, SECURED AND KEPT?

We take all reasonable technical and organisational precautions to secure your personal data against loss, unauthorised access and other breaches. This data will not be shared with third parties, except in the cases provided for in this confidentiality notice.

When the personal information we collect is no longer required for a given purpose or on the basis of a legal requirement, we destroy it or make it anonymous.

We also undertake not to retain your personal data should you show no interest in our services for a defined period after you last contact us.

YOUR RIGHTS – HOW TO ACCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND REQUEST CORRECTIONS

You can exercise your rights simply by contacting us at info@partage.ch.

You may request access to your personal data, and correct or update it.

If processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list to stop receiving communications about our actions and activities by using the “unsubscribe” option or by contacting us at info@partage.ch.

If the processing is based on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to the processing by contacting us at info@partage.ch.

To help us process your request, please provide us with your full contact details so that we can identify you securely.

You can also limit the use of tracking technologies, such as cookies, by configuring your browser to warn you before accepting them, or you can simply configure it to refuse them.

If you feel that we are not respecting your rights or our obligations, you can lodge a complaint directly with the data protection authorities in Switzerland.

This Privacy Notice and all matters arising therefrom or in connection therewith shall be governed by Swiss law. You accept the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the head office of Fondation Partage.
