Our social impact
Did you know that in 2019, 8.7% of the Swiss population was living in poverty? *
Today, more than ever, anyone can fall into food insecurity. For over 15 years, Partage has been working relentlessly to fight hunger.
The right to food is a “fundamental right of everyone to be free from hunger” recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, but also in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966.
ย
Divorce, illness or job loss have always been factors that can lead to major financial hardship, tipping an individual or family into poverty.
The Covid-19 pandemic has reinforced inequalities in Switzerland and in Geneva, generating sometimes inextricable financial situations. Particularly people of modest means who have lost their income as a result of the restrictions and uncovered by state aid or social insurance. Finally, the elderly and/or disabled remain particularly vulnerable and isolated without outside help.
