Léonor is a self-taught Swiss artist with a degree in information science. At the crossroads of art and memory, she questions the logic of transmission, archiving and forgetting. Her works play with the codes of knowledge to reveal areas of shadow and resistance.
‘La pomme des recettes’ explores the relationship between time, memory and transmission. Sculpted in resin, this work brings together 143 handwritten recipes in four Swiss languages and English, inscribed on the surface of the apple. Each recipe is a form of culinary knowledge passed down through the ages. By using the apple as an everyday object, she questions the way in which objects can become witnesses to our collective memory. The 144th recipe, left empty, symbolises the call to urgency, to listen and to act, urging us to reflect on what is often invisible but essential.
Overlooking the Parc des Bastions, the Palais Anna et Jean-Gabriel Eynard, considered to be Geneva’s first palace, is the seat of the Administrative Council. This emblematic historic building hosts the weekly meetings of the Administrative Council, preserves the City’s archives and houses several departments of the municipal administration.
