Le ver dans la pomme d'Adam

The organic apples my parents used to grow were sweet, but small, ugly and inhabited. A memory of the families of maggots that squatted on our fruit, mixed with the many jokes about our famous surname…

With some 650,000 objects spanning 15,000 years of history, the Musée d’art et d’histoire de Genève (MAH) is one of Switzerland’s leading museums and a major encyclopaedic reference in Europe. Founded in 1910, and with a collection spanning archaeology, fine arts, graphic arts, applied arts and watchmaking and jewellery, it stands out for its ability to bring together heritage and contemporary creation. Through its eclectic programme of exhibitions, performances, concerts and meetings, it is asserting its role as a committed cultural player, attentive to the challenges facing society. As a pioneer of the ‘multi-frequency museum’ concept, the MAH is exploring new exhibition and interaction formats that incorporate multi-sensory experiences and modular spaces. This bold vision aims to renew the relationship between the public and the works of art, going beyond traditional museum codes.
