Alice Izzo

Alice Izzo (1991, CH), who holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from HEAD – Geneva, is an illustrator and visual artist whose work oscillates between the figurative and the patterned. Her colourful, uncluttered compositions explore themes linked to narrative and the imaginary. Her bright, cheerful work invites viewers to escape and reflect on universal themes through a powerful graphic approach. Co-founder of Studio Les Amazones in Geneva, she is involved in a wide range of collaborative projects and explores illustration in all its forms, from murals to textile design and publishing.

Croquer la vie à pleine dent

The apple, emblem of the Fondation Partage, is here revisited through a visual sequence that invites us to bite into life. As the viewer moves around the sculpture, he or she discovers an apple that is gradually transformed: first whole, then cut open, nibbled piece by piece, until it almost disappears.
This metaphor illustrates the idea of equitable sharing of resources: each mouthful taken symbolises a redistribution, a simple but essential gesture so that everyone can have their share. Echoing the mission of Partage, this work is a reminder that solidarity also means sharing food, so that there is enough for everyone.

UBS is proud to support the actions of the Fondation Partage by hosting two apples decorated by renowned artists in its Geneva buildings as part of the foundation’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
The apples are on display in our UBS Cité branch and in the client area of our UBS Acacias building.
